    Angelica polymorpha (Dong Quai) - Traditional Chinese herbal remedy with a long history: Regulates menstruation in any cases of pelvic congestion or blood stasis. Relieves dysmenorrhea and chronic pelvic pain (e.g. menstrual clots, uterine fibroids, endometriosis), amenorrhea, PMS, menopausal symptoms and infertility. Thought to “lessen pelvic congestion”.

    Bupleurum falcatum (Bupleurum) - A traditional Chinese herbal remedy that has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties called saiosaponins which support liver function. Bupleurum is used in folk medicine as an anti-inflammatory and pain remedy and is used to regulate the menstrual cycle.

    Paeonia lactiflora (Peony) - A combination of white peony and licorice increased DHEA and serum estrogen concentration. It acts as a uterine smooth muscle relaxant in several animal species. In one case study, TJ-68, a Japanese traditional herbal formula containing Paeonia lactiflora and licorice demonstrated effectiveness in treating risperidone-induced amenorrhea and hyperprolactinemia.

    Zingiber officinale (Ginger) - The anti-spasmodic effect of ginger is due to the blocked of cyclooxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase. A study has reported the effect of ginger in the reduction the severity and duration of menstrual pain.

    Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Liquorice) - The pharmacologic effects of liquorice contribute to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, anti-allergenic, and antimicrobial properties. Its anti-inflammatory effects are helpful for period cramps and pain, as well as soothing gastrointestinal inflammation that may coincide with menstruation.
